Meghan Markle turns 36 on Friday, and to celebrate her birthday, Gossip Cop looks back at five wrong rumors about the actress we exclusively “blew out.”
Of course, most of the bogus reports surrounding the “Suits” star involve her relationship with Prince Harry. Last month, Us Weekly published a deceptive cover story suggesting there’s “trouble in paradise” for the couple. The cover teased drama surrounding the royal having yet to propose to his girlfriend, as well as the Queen’s supposed feelings about Markle. The accompanying story, however, was actually positive and painted a happy picture of the couple. Unfortunately, the misleading cover stirred up phony drama to trick readers into buying magazines.
In May, Gossip Cop called out RadarOnline for wrongly reporting Markle got banned from Pippa Middleton’s wedding. The unreliable webloid claimed Prince Harry “looked miserable” at the reception because his girlfriend wasn’t allowed to attend. But the site’s story was absurdly inaccurate as the actress did in fact attend the nuptials.
The National Enquirer concocted a tall tale in March about Markle’s supposed plans to renovate Kensington Palace. The magazine claimed the actress insisted the royals make “eco-friendly” changes to the historic residence, and Queen Elizabeth was outraged by her grandson’s girlfriend overstepping her boundaries. A palace insider, however, assured Gossip Cop the report was entirely fictitious.
Last December, Gossip Cop busted Star for falsely claiming the Queen had commanded Prince Harry to marry Markle because she had gotten pregnant with his baby. The bogus story went on to say the royal was ecstatic about having his first child, but the Queen insisted he wed immediately so the family wouldn’t be “shamed by a royal bastard’s birth.” But a source close to the situation exclusively assured us Markle wasn’t pregnant, and time has proven the publication’s story was entirely made-up.
And finally, Gossip Cop corrected Celeb Dirty Laundry last November after the webloid baselessly reported Markle and Prince Harry had split. The untrustworthy site claimed the Queen forced her grandson to dump the actress because she didn’t want any Hollywood celebrities marrying into the family. We were exclusively told by a source close to the situation that the couple hadn’t broken up, and their relationship is clearly still going strong.
Gossip Cop wishes Markle a happy and rumor-free 36th birthday!
