Dreams, the revolutionary design toolkit, has a release date in February 2020 - Polygon

Media Molecule’s Dreams entered early access this spring and immediately began to deplete Polygon’s store of carefully curated adjectives. The game-making toolkit is so flexible that it’s been used to remake other games and create bonkers virtual art installations. Now, it finally has a release date. Expect Dreams to arrive on PlayStation 4 beginning Feb. 14, 2020. Copies will go for $29.99.

Dreams has been in production for years now by Media Molecule, the same team behind the Little Big Planet series. It takes that game’s creative sandbox and expands it in every possible direction. Imagine a complete game design toolkit, with an art and music pipeline bundled inside. Now add in motion control and hooks for virtual reality and you’ve only just begun to scratch the surface. Early users have shown that you can create almost anything you can dream of.

The first time I encountered Dreams was on the Indie Train Jam, where a small team from Media Molecule had taken up residence in the snack car and proceeded to knock the socks off of every developer who got their hands on it. It will be fascinating to see what gets made once Dreams finds its way out into the world.
